Question:

Can i get a divorce in NJ even if i dont know where my husband is?

State:
New Jersey

Answer:

Even though New Jersey does not allow irreconcilable differences (or no-fault) as sufficient grounds for divorce, the state does allow abandonment or desertion of the marriage for at least 12 months to be sufficient cause. If you can prove to the court that your husband has been missing for over a year you shouldn’t have a problem filing for a divorce. – The Divorce.com Team Wendy Jaffe and Divorce.com can only provide general information about divorce.
