Question:

Do I have to appear in court? Is their a court fee? I haven’t been with my wife in 4yrs – we have no kids, property, just want a divorce so I can go on with my life – but it’s so expensive can you help me? Thank you.

State:
Florida

Answer:

If your wife agrees to all issues involving division of property and debts, and she’s not asking for alimony, you probably don’t have much to worry about. If your wife has filed papers and you are the respondent, you’ll have to fill out financial disclosure forms but you don’t have to attend the final divorce hearing unless there is something you need to dispute. – The Divorce.com Team
