Larry King Retires His Divorce
It is official; Larry King will not complete his seventh divorce. Los Angeles court records show that King and his wife Shawn Southwick both filed documents to end their simultaneous divorce petitions and that both cases have been dismissed. Larry also announced his retirement from his CNN talk show, “Larry King Live,” citing the desire to spend more time with his wife and two children after 25 years on the air.
Even though Larry will leave the network later this year, he will continue to produce specials for CNN as a contributor. Executives at CNN have not yet announced a replacement host for the Larry King Live show.
Shawn Southwick King had filed her own papers to end the near 13-year marriage, but the couple made the reconciliation official when Larry released a statement last week saying, “A lot of new things are happening to us, and we are happy to be together as a family with our children.” Now that Larry has retired his divorce action as well as his TV show, there might be a happy ending for this Hollywood divorce story after all.
