Aug 8, 2012 by

Question:

My husband and I have been seperated since November 2004. No formal seperation papers have been drawn. I now live in Pennsylvania while he still resides in Alabama. Can I obtain a divorce from here or do I need to return to Alabama?

State:
Pennsylvania

Answer:

No need to file in Alabama. You can file for divorce in the state where you now reside. As long as you have been living in Pennsylvania for at least 6 months you can file there. – The Divorce.com Team Wendy Jaffe and Divorce.com can only provide general information about divorce.
