Secret Swedish Divorce

In an effort to keep details of one of the world’s most public divorces private, Tiger Woods and wife Elin Nordegren may file their divorce in Sweden where public records are not so public and there is less scrutiny from the prying eyes of the press.

According to various sources Nordegren is initiating the divorce in her native country and wants to finalize it by the end of the year. The couple will share parenting duties for their two children Sam, 3, and Charlie, 14 months, and are attempting to keep the terms of the divorce confidential.

It is thought Nordegren could receive up to $500 million in the settlement, but by filing in Sweden, the details of the split and division of their assets would not be included in public court filings. Woods is reported to have hired Thomas Sasser, a West Palm Beach, Florida lawyer specializing in international child custody arrangements. Sources have reported that Nordegren will stay in Sweden and continue to raise her children there.

“There is no arguing any more” said a source quoted in the UK press. “They don’t fight. There is coldness between them and it’s Elin who is pulling the plug on the marriage. Tiger’s return to golf made her unhappy. That’s when she grew cold toward him.”
