Question:

I’ve been married 30 yrs, kids grown, have home – he left – just walked out, I have only worked part time during the whole marriage, domestic violence pending. Will I keep the home? Will he provide me with alimony, insurance, and pay the home mortgage along with the alimony I may receive?

State:
Alabama

Answer:

Without knowing the details of your assets and debts, it would seem you are likely to stay in the home and receive some level of support. However, if you have significant assets and your husband hires an attorney to contest the issues, you could have a battle on your hands. It is impossible to say what the outcome will be without knowing your spouse’s intentions. At the very least , it sounds like you should perhaps consult with an attorney to see what your options are. – The Divorce.com Team
