Even though same-sex marriage is not legal in Texas, a Texas appeals court has ruled that gay couples cannot get divorced in that state. Same-sex couples married in other states do not have the legal right to get divorced in the Lone Star State and must seek their relationship remedies elsewhere. We have already covered the first attempts made by a Dallas man to divorce his husband in Texas. The petitioner known as J.B. in court documents was initially given permission to get a Texas divorce by the Dallas County District Court.
